Sjótækni´s survey boat during mapping in Skötufjörður off Hvítanes
When laying a submarine cable for Orkubú Vestfjarðar in Skötufjörður in Ísafjarðardjúpur, a new, remote-controlled survey boat owned by Sjótækni was used to find the most suitable landing sites on both sides of Skötufjörður. The survey boat is equipped with a multi-beam meter that maps the bottom and the surrounding land so that a complete picture is obtained of the environment being mapped.
